Boko Haram kills Borno lawmaker

MAIDUGURI—A member of the Borno State House of Assembly, Mr. Modu Bintube, was, Sunday evening, in Maiduguri, shot dead by suspected members of the Boko Haram sect.

A spokesman for the Joint Task Force said: ”The member was shot dead in front of his house on Sunday evening. We are combing the whole area in search of his killers.”

Bintube was shot in front of his house in a style similar to that of the Boko Haram sect.

According to Borno State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Simeon Midenda: ”The pattern of the killing is similar to that of how Boko Haram members are targeting their victims.”

Explosives were detonated in a military settlement in Gombe early on Sunday and a soldier murdered in Jos, Plateau State, that has witnessed violence with fingers pointing the direction of the sect.

The sect rejected dialogue with the Federal Government and has vowed to continue their fight until their demands are met.Three suspects and a police officer were killed in an ensuing gun battle.
