Godfrey tops Nigeria’s ranking

By Richard Animam
After an epoch making feat last week that saw  his shooting a new course record in Abuja, Christian Godfrey is now Nigeria’s number one golfer.

In a an exclusive sneak preview of the Nigerian ‘Order of Merit’ statues  after the 11th CMCL Championship, the thirty year old player has  shot up from his fourth spot on the ranking to the prime spot, displacing Ghana’s Emos Korblah from the spot  for the first time in the on-going season.

In a reaction to the development, he told Complete Sports that he had known that the ten under par 62 carding on the third day of the CMCL Championship will do a lot  for him.

“ Prior to this time I have not been swinging well, that was why I was very picky about  my appearance outside the country, I knew I had a lot to do to my game to gain some measure of confidence. With what has happened I am ready for a lot of things and I know the win will do a lot to me, so I am not surprised when I am told I now lead the ranking; this time I can defend it”
