2011: I’ll develop Delta if…, says Omo-Agege

UGHELLI—DELTA State governorship aspirant, Chief Ovie Omo-Agege, has said he would embark on massive infrastructural development in the state if elected into office in 2011, adding that the present government in the state has failed to deliver democratic dividends to Deltans.
Omo-Agege, who addressed Peoples Democratic Party,  PDP,  faithful in Oleh, weekend, at a meeting of the Delta South Leaders and Stakeholders Forum, berated the state government for selective granting of free medical health care to some groups of Deltans, instead of the entire people of the state.  Restating his commitment to the socio-economic well being of Deltans, he said that if given the opportunity, his administration will build a fully equipped modern hospital in Gbaramatu Kingdom to cater for the health care needs of the people in the area.

In a statement after the town hall meeting, leaders and stakeholders of the PDP in the Delta South Senatorial District, expressed their support for Chief Omo-Agege in the 2011 elections.

The people in the communiqué which was signed by Chief Benedict Asaboro, Chief Adolo Okotie-Eboh, Engr Kestin Pondi, Rev Israel Unutame and eight others, commended the leadership of Chief Edwin Clark and adopted Chief Omo-Agege as their choice governorship aspirant for Delta State come 2011.

According to the statement, “the only thing the entire Delta South has to show for the over three years of Uduaghan’s government, which has received over N600 billion from the Federation Account and internally generated is televisions at bus stops and street lights. The people of the Delta South have become more impoverished under Uduaghan government than any government ever in Delta State.”
