By Demola Akinyemi

Ilorin—Kwara state Co-ordinator of Goodluck Support Group,  GSG, Mr. Moses Ibiyemi,  yesterday, urged the electorate to do away with past and old leaders in reference to 2011 elections.

He said the people should give chance to a young leader like the incumbent President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to enable him continue with the good works of late President Alh Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

Ibiyemi, who spoke with newsmen in Ilorin on the state of the nation in the state office of the group located along Ajase-Ipo road, said that the country has come of  age and Nigerians should not be deceived again by politicians and past leaders so the nation can move forward.

He stressed the need for Nigerians not to make any mistakes by allowing these past leaders to come back, noting that though they have constitutional rights to contest the elections, they  have had their times and therefore, should allow younger generation to emerge.

Ibiyemi assured that the GSG would work hard and mobilise Nigerians ahead of the next year general elections in order to allow President Jonathan to emerge as the next President of Nigeria come 2011.

He said: “It is high time Nigerians allowed young leaders like President Goodluck Jonathan to continue with the good work of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua in order to boost the of the nation’s socio-economic growth and stabilise her democracy.”
