Over 5000 officers undergo professional training in one year

NIGERIA Customs Service,NCS, has disclosed that about 3100 and 2500 senior and junior officers respectively have undergone various training courses both locally and internationally in the last one year.

The NCS leadership also told Customswatch that deliberate efforts  was made to change the behaviour of officers and men through moral rebirth, discipline and integrity.

It was reliably gathered that the officers were trained along the current global courses on customs.
“Ascyuda++, enforcement and drugs, tariff and trade, accounts and audit, medical and technical, general office administration and human resources recently about 50 officers and men of the Provost Unit were trained on security and its related matters at the Army School of Military Police and as a result the service was listed among the schools membership on security Enhancement programme,” NCS leadership told  Customswatch.

In addition Custmswatch was informed that, “ in tandem with the nation’s rebranding agenda deliberate efforts were made to change the behaviour of officers and men of the service during the last one year of CG Dikko’s stewardship and a significant awareness on the need for behavioural reform has obviously been on the increase.

Officers now display high sense of responsibility and diligence. Also unnecessary administrative bureaucracy is drastically reduced and official assignments and files are treated with dispatch.”Further checks also revealed that NCS has been consolidating on existing e-Customs in order to facilitate trade.
