Respected Nollywood producer, Emem Isong has described her latest movie, “Apaye” which means ‘A Mothers’ Love’ as her most challenging work, saying ‘it is a different kind of movie.

According to Emem, while she has not done a biograghical movie before in her entire career, Apaye  which she disclosed was a commissioned film is based on a true life story.

“This is my first time to do a true life story. It was challenging for me. We spent weeks doing research in the creeks of Bayelsa, learning the culture of the people. My choice of cast fit the character in reality,”she said.

The movie which premieres on the 7th of  March, is a total representation of what the woman whom the movie was shot in her honour really stood for.

Directed by Desmond Elliot, the movie parades some of the best brains in Nollywood including,  Clarion Churah, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Belinda Effah, Mbong Amata and  Millicent Jack amongst others.

Relieving the experience while screening the movie to the press, Desmond said, “the movie was shot in the creeks of Bayelsa, and it was particularly exciting working on this project.’
