Ahead of the 2019 presidential elections, the United Niger Deltans Development Forum, UNIDEF, has assured Green Party of Nigeria, GPN, of five million votes of Niger Deltans across Nigeria.

Speaking at the 10th anniversary programme of UNIDEF in Lagos, President of the group Mr. Ese Ogheneovo Gabriel said: “In the past, Nigeria was ruled by leaders whose allegiance is to the foreign lands where they keep their stupendous loots, depriving Nigerians and Deltans of basic necessities of life.

Having identified the course of our social vices as poor leadership, it is our objectives to sensitise and educate our members on the need for judicious utilization of their political sovereignty.

We are about five million members and our presence is in 18 states of the Federation. Come 2019, we will support and cast our votes for the credible presidential candidate of GPN who is sensitive to the plight of the Niger Deltans and Nigerians collectively during the forthcoming presidential elections.”
