KATSINA – An Ad-hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission engaged for the Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections in Safana Local Government Area of Katsina have been reportedly abducted.

Yazid Abdullahi, was kidnapped at Runka B, Garin Magaji polling unit, 011, in Safana while on the way to the Registration Area, RA.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the State, Jibril Zarewa confirmed the development.

The Commissioner who spoke through the Electoral Officer, Safana Local government area, Sabiu Abdulkadir said the kidnappers only whisked him (Abdullahi) away leaving behind the election materials.

In a chat with the State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Sanusi Buba, he confirmed that one person have been arrested in connection with the abduction and it is still carrying out investigation to ascertain circumstances surrounding the abduction.
