Irked by the statement credited to the President of Arewa Youths, Yerima Abbas Shettima, were he said the North would still retain power after President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration in 2023, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, has in a riposte lashed out at him, noting that his statement can be likened to a hate speech.

The group through its President General, Mazi Okechukwu isiguzoro and Secretary General, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike condemned his statement, stressing that the promotion of ethnic domination and pursuing obvious unnatural and unhealthy agenda will threaten the unity of the country.

Continuing, the group opined that rotational Presidency is and will always remain a veritable tool for peace and Security in Nigeria. It said that Igbo Presidency would favour the north in 2023.

The statement in parts:

“Arewa Consultative Youth Forum President, Yerima Abbas Shettima stance on the 2023 Nigerian President of Igbo stock, on his recent interview in some dailies is a huge Joke.

Nigerians wish to try something new in the political space and governance in 2023. Nigeria needs a radical departure from era of incompetency and maladies in Governance and want to try Igbo ingenuity, entrepreneur Spirit ,indomitable vigour in Governance in  2023.

Igbo Presidency remains the key to unlock Nigeria’s  potentials locked down by  incompetency and corruption.

It’s a hate speech for anyone to promote Ethnic domination by North succeeding President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide will engage all ethnic Nationalities groups on Consultative meetings including Arewa Consultative Youth Forum, from January 2020 pertaining 2023 Igbo Presidency project, and other mutual issues, dialogue and building bridges across the Niger remains the potent force to engage through moral persuasion and  building alliances across the country.

Igbo Presidency 2023 remains the most justified Nigeria Project, which is more feasible and realisable and will favour the North and other part of the Country more than anywhere in Igbo land.
