I’m 100 percent Nigerian, says Oil Money, British international businessman

In response to rumours about his real identity, international entrepreneur Alafaa Kariboye-Igbo has come out to dispel all doubts by declaring: “I am 100 per cent Nigerian from the Niger Delta region.”

Refuting the false information making the round that he is half Congolese, the man better known by his moniker, Oil Money, said: “I am Kalabari, born in Buguma town in Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.”

Continuing, he said: “I travelled to the UK to study at the London University, and after my studies, I live in the UK with my family. However, I have been conducting the bulk of my business in Nigeria.”
He offered further clarification about his popular nickname, Oil Money, and the kind of business he is into. According to him: “My businesses are duly registered in the UK and Nigeria. I am at first an oil-and-gas businessman and I am also a real estate investor.

These are the major planks of my business. I do other things such as sales of cars and I am always on the lookout for business opportunities that I can take advantage of, so don’t be surprised if you hear tomorrow that I am into commodity trading or show business. I do any legit business.”
He continued: “As for my name, Oil Money, it’s a coinage that combines two words which have a deeper meaning than people assumed. I am not called Oil Money because I am into the business of oil and gas.

Oil Money is a metaphor that means my fortune, like oil, is natural, unending and unimpeded.”

The British-Nigerian mogul further reiterated his Nigerian roots, saying: “I am proud of my Kalabari heritage, and I try to represent the best of Nigeria in everything that I do.”
