Leon Edwards eyes history in huge rematch against Kamaru Usman for welterweight title

Leon Edwards eyes history in huge rematch against Kamaru Usman for welterweight title

Will Usman continue his dominance in yet another profile-building victory? Or will “Rocky” use his slick skills to bring Usman’s streak to a halt to be crowned the new welterweight king?

The two streaking welterweights meet at UFC 278 at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah in less than 20 minutes.

Seven years since their first encounter, Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards will meet once again, but this time the UFC welterweight title is on the line.

A lot has happened since Usman beat Edwards via unanimous decision in December 2015.

Usman has gone from strength to strength, claiming UFC gold and becoming one of the most dominant champions in recent. Edwards on the other hand as had to go about his business the hard way by steadily rising through the UFC rankings and following a win over Nate Diaz last Summer, the Birmingham man is ready for a title shot.

Usman has never lost in the UFC and has only dropped one fight in his professional career. It was his second encounter back in 2013 so he’s forgotten how to lose and is justifiably pound-for-pound No 1.
