Super Eagles of Nigeria have suffered a major injury blow ahead of their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations campaign with midfielder Wilfred Ndidi ruled out of the tournament in Ivory Coast.
Ndidi sustained an injury while playing for his English club, Leicester City, but he still made the final 25-man roster for the 2023 AFCON.
After some medical checks, Ndidi won’t be able to recover in time to take part in the Super Eagles fourth AFCON title pursuit.
Meanwhile, Alhassan Yusuf has been called up as a late replacement.
