Nigerian Afrobeat singer Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has shared her excitement and preparation ahead of the 2024 Grammy Awards ceremony

In an interview with Cool FM Lagos, Ayra Starr expressed her excitement for the 66th Grammy Awards, where her hit track ‘Rush’ is nominated for Best African Song Performance.

The artist stated that she had carefully planned every part of her participation in the coveted event from her attire, walk, down to her acceptance speech.

When asked by OAP Dotun about her readiness, Ayra Starr claimed that she is completely ready for the Grammy Awards ceremony.

She reaffirmed her dedication to the event, where she is a first-time nominee with Nigerian music giants Davido, Asake and Olamide, and South Africa’s Tyla, with Grammy-winner Burna Boy rounding out the elite category.

When asked what she planned to do after winning the Grammy, Ayra Starr joked that she would go to her favorite Chinese restaurant and eat.

The singer stated that after this, she plans to video call her mother to convey the good news.

“I have my speech. I have everything done already. I already know my walk and my outfit” Ayra said.

The singer added that if she doesn’t win this year, she has already planned her outfit and acceptance speech for the 2025 edition and subsequent years.

The 66th Grammy Awards will be held on February 5 at the Crypto Arena in Los Angeles, USA, with South African comedian Trevor Noah hosting the renowned event.
