Fast-rising Hollywood actor Jacob Elordi, who acted in Saltburn, has been accused of grabbing a radio reporter by the throat after a ‘prank gone wrong’.

Joshua Fox of Australian radio station KIIS FM said he tracked down the 26-year-old actor to a club in Sydney after hearing he was in the city.

However, Mr Fox claimed Mr Jacob Elordi responded furiously when he asked him to fill an empty container with bathwater in reference to a well-known Saltburn scene.

Police in New South Wales said they’re looking into an alleged assault.

Mr Elordi, originally from Brisbane, Australia, was sighted on Saturday in a beer garden at the Clovelly Hotel on the beach in south-east Sydney.

Speaking on the Kyle and Jackie O Breakfast Show, Mr Fox stated that he approached the actor outside the premises.

In a recording made available by KIIS FM, Mr Elordi can be heard requesting not to be filmed.

Mr Fox told broadcasters Kyle Sandilands and Jackie Henderson that he agreed to stop “because the joke didn’t land,” but Mr Elordi came “right in my face” and asked that he delete all film.

The radio producer stated he refused because he felt “intimidated” and wanted to keep the recording as evidence of the alleged confrontation.

Following this, Mr Fox stated that the actor “[flipped]… he pushes me against the wall and his hands are on my throat”.

Police confirmed to BBC Newsbeat that they were looking into an alleged attack on a 32-year-old guy by a 26-year-old male.

Officers stated that the older male was not hurt during the altercation.
