No fewer than 235 registered Support Groups in Delta State have passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Sheriff Oborevwori.

This is just as the groups have also reminded the governor to consider appointing leaders from the 235 registered support groups who have diligently served the party in thick and thin.

The plea was made in an official statement issued and signed by Hon. Prince Philip C. Igwenwanne secretary directorate of volunteer/ support group.

In the statement, the group stated that they are confident in the leadership of the governor, adding that, the Atiku/Sheriff Directorate of Volunteer/Support Groups PCMC has equally endorsed Rt Honorable Oborevwori for a second term.

With the speed of progress in Delta State and focused leadership of the Governor, the group has pledged to work closely with the state’s number one citizen and offer unwavering support.

In addition, all the support groups affirmed their absolute confidence in Sen Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, the Senior Political Adviser to the Delta State Governor.

They also expressed gratitude to key figures like Mrs. Nkem Okwuofu, Hon. Festus Agas, and Hon. Funkekem Solomon for their encouragement.

The support groups emphasise the unity and strength within their ranks and urge the governor governor to disregard rumors about loyalty and remain focused on driving progress.

It would be recalled that the 2023 Nigerian gubernatorial elections were held for state governors in 31 out of 36 Nigerian states.

All but three elections were held on 18 March—concurrent with elections to every state house of assembly, three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections.
