Despite the crisis in the Labour Party (LP), the lawmaker representing Ikpoba-Okha/Egor federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Honourable Murphy Omoruyi has said the LP was the best alternative party for the people of Edo state and appealed to them to come out en masse and vote for the candidate of the party, Olumide Akpata come September 21st.

The lawmaker made the appeal Tuesday at the Teachers House in Egor LGA while presenting a cheque of Ten million Naira ( N10M ) to two hundred market women from his constituency.

Omoruyi described the event as a special one having been used by God to support and uplift their businesses and that the gesture was part of his campaign promises aimed at building a strong community.

He also announced a training programme for women to enhance their businesses and instituted a yearly scholarship for SS 3 students from selected secondary schools in the two local government areas that make up the federal constituency.

According to him, “The best party for the people of Edo State is the Labour Party. The others have been tried and we know where they have taken our state to so I appeal to you to mobilise your people and come out enmasse on the day of election to vote for the party that will rescue Edo and that is Labour Party.”

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Magdalene speaking on behalf of others commended Hon Omoruyi for remembering them at this tough moment and pledged to make judicious use of the fund.
