THE General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has urged Nigerian youths to take care of their aged parents.

Adeboye made this known at the RCCG headquarters in Ebute-Metta on Sunday during the July Thanksgiving service, which had the theme ‘The Heirs of God.’

The revered cleric who preached online from the church Mount Camel in Ifewara, Osun state cautioned Nigerian youths against abandoning their parents at old age, stressing that such an attitude usually reflects negatively on such children.

Highlighting the positive impact of his mother’s blessing on him, RCCG G.O said being dutiful to parents attracts both physical and spiritual blessings. Adding that the blessing of God and that of his mother made way for him.

In his words: “Those of you who would have had the opportunity of being blessed by your biological parents, I congratulate you because their blessings would last.

“Younger ones make sure you take good care of your parents because if they blessed you, you will be blessed.

“I have said it before that what I am today, I am by the special grace of God and the blessing of my mum. Anytime I pleased her, did something special for her when I was a little kid, she had this prayer she always prayed for me; she would say ‘you this boy, you will call one person and two hundred would answer’. Of course, I didn’t know the meaning of that. How could I beckon one person and 200 would answer?

“But today, if we had a ministers’ conference and I said pastor, come and I did not mention the name of the pastor, by the grace of God, more than 200 hundred pastors would turn around.

“If you have been blessed by your parents’ congratulations, I would appeal to all of you who have parents to continue to take good care of them so that they can continue to pronounce blessings upon you.”

Addressing journalists after the programme, the Regional pastor in charge of Region 1, Pastor Dele Balogun called for national repentance in the face of various challenges confronting the nation, assuring that if the entire nation turned to God, He would definitely heal Nigeria.

In his words: “I strongly believe that there is a glorious future for us as a nation. We should not join those who say our future is bleak. I know things might not be easy, but once God is on our side, tomorrow Nigeria will be alright.
