LABOUR Party, LP, chieftain and former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Anambra State, Mr. Oseloka Obaze has said that the support of his party will not go to the traditional politicians for the 2025 governorship election who, he alleged, make promises they cannot keep.

Speaking at the stakeholders strategic meeting in Awka, Obaze, who was Secretary to the State Government, SSG, during the administration of Mr. Peter Obi, said they have decided to support someone who has vision and has created and managed wealth.

Such a person, he added,  must be a team player and should be someone that can be trusted.

He said: “We are committed to Anambra State being under a friendly leadership that is totally supportive of Peter Obi and the 2027 Igbo agenda on the Nigerian presidency.

” We had thought that 2014 to 2022 was bad for our home state, Anambra, but things have gotten worse since 2021.

“There is no solution in sight. Anambra was broken and needed to be fixed. Despite high promises of Dubai and Taiwan, Anambra has regressed in terms of security, quality of life and good governance.

“The present leadership, despite all pretences, is not living up to their promises; and must, as such, be voted out.”

He explained that the Anambra governorship mandate for 2025 still belongs to Anambra South Senatorial zone, adding that it is up to the South Senatorial Zone to find someone credible and a transformative leader to succeed the incumbent.

“For our part, we will remain proactive and constructively engaged.  We are bridge builders; we will provide the necessary building blocks,” he said.

He also said that the task ahead is to support Peter Obi and stakeholders  to win the Anambra governorship in 2025 before the presidential elections in 2027.

“We are fully prepared and ready to complete the unfinished business of 2023”, the LP chieftain said.
