In February 2024, Oluwole Oke, a member of the House of Representatives, proposed a bill aiming to create three new states. Recently, a bill seeking to create a new state in the south-east geopolitical zone also passed its first reading in the House of Representatives. These moves have generated widespread attention and sparked extensive debate across the nation. To understand public sentiment regarding these proposals, People Talk visited the streets of Lagos, the economic hub of the south-west, to gather opinions from everyday Nigerians.
