On Saturday, 15th June 2024, the air buzzed with excitement and expectations as tech enthusiasts, industry experts, cutting-edge startups, and exemplary entrepreneurs converged at Limitless Without Borders 2.0! The Tech and Networking Event’s second edition held at the University of East London, Docklands Campus.

RKY Careers has created and continues to create an inclusive space for everyone. The blend of migrants networking seamlessly, insightful panel discussions, spontaneous hosts, a lively and interactive audience, and excellent refreshments culminated in an enriching experience.

The event served as a beacon of the future for limitless opportunities that abound in tech, including the Global Talent Route, entrepreneurial spaces, and the power of networking and collaboration. The event had incredible keynote speeches, electrifying panel discussions and immersive workshops, further illuminating minds and providing clarity. In addition, the spontaneity of the comperes further amplified the energy, keeping the momentum going and ensuring a lively and dynamic atmosphere throughout the sessions. Worthy of note was the engaging start and relatable questions at the beginning, which broke the ice. A significant highlight and aspect of the event was attendees seamlessly integrating and networking during tea, refreshments, lunch and networking breaks.

RKY Careers CEO Rukayat Alabi, the event’s convener, with the most notable inspiring moments that defined this unparalleled gathering of minds, took centre stage for the welcome speech.

Afterwards, she delivered two (2) insightful sessions on ‘Building Up and Scaling a Business in the UK’ and ‘The Limitless Power of Tech’, further reflecting her many hats. She was outstanding and remarkable, answering all questions and giving further insight into limitless possibilities. Her experiences laid credence to how tenacious, passionate and goal-driven she is. Little wonder why RKY Careers and Rukayat Alabi keep getting accolades after accolades.

Impeccable deliveries of insightful and engaging sessions from Toyin Ajibulu, Kehinde Durodola-Tunde and Dr. Ireti Akerele left the audience with thought-provoking questions and suggestions. Ending this aspect of the event was almost impossible, as the engagements were relentless. Indeed, the session was an eye-opener and a brilliant masterpiece of career-defining moments. This was immediately followed by a short panel discussion on ‘Business Opportunities in Technology’. Rukayat opened the minds and eyes of attendees to the reasons why and how they can set up and run successful businesses in the UK.

The 2nd panel discussion, bordering on ‘Secrets to Landing your Desired Jobs in Tech’, was insightful. The panel speakers, including Human Resources Experts and Career Coaches, brought their A-game to answer all questions. They weren’t only knowledgeable about the latest industry trends; their insights were drawn deeply rooted in real-world experiences. Each speaker brought a unique perspective to all topics, igniting entirely new thought processes and action plans resulting from practical nuggets shared by all speakers. Engaging with such dedicated, passionate, knowledgeable and articulate experts who made complex topics simple was refreshing.

The final panel discussion on ‘Exploring the Global Talent Visa Route to UK Settlement’ was engaging and insightful. We had 7 Global Talent Recipients share their journey to getting this most sought-after visa route whilst guiding the audience on how to position themselves for unforeseen opportunities, celebrate and document their milestones recommendations and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders. Engaging with such dedicated, passionate, knowledgeable and articulate experts who made complex topics simple was refreshing.

The attention to detail was evident in media coverage and refreshments, as the provision was top-notch. Memories were documented via seamless photographs and real-time 360 short video sessions, video feedback sessions, and the colourful ambience that greeted attendees. The provision of quality snacks, foods and beverages was genuinely commendable, as having good food available during networking breaks was a fantastic touch that ensured that participants refuelled while adding to the overall positive experience and outlook of the event.

One of the event’s major highlights was the exhibition of Apply Buddy, one of the innovative products built by RKY Digital Solutions, one of RKY Group’s companies. Apply Buddy is a platform that aims to solve the problems of job applications by combining human and technological intelligence. Many job seekers take steps to acquire in-demand skills, transition to new career paths, and optimise their CVs and Linkedin, but they still struggle to find time to apply for jobs because of the enormous pressure to take transit or other jobs to pay bills. Apply Buddy, which will fully launch in the coming months, will solve this problem by offering different packages, including Do-it-for-You job applications, CV optimisation, LinkedIn optimisation, interview preparations, etc.

This was a day for all members present at the event, as hopes were renewed and passions were refueled. Everyone felt a renewed energy to forge ahead, blaze the trail and not settle for less. Adding a bit of glamour to the already remarkable day was the Award ceremony that was held after all the discussions and refreshments. Members of the RKY Careers Alumni community, who formed the planning committee, were duly recognised and awarded for their contribution to the success of the event; participants got memoirs and left with a ‘bit and bag’ of RKY Careers, whilst all 15 speakers also got presented awards and bouquets, for their priceless value, commitment and presence. The intentionality of the host, RKY Careers CEO Rukayat Alabi, was evident in her thoughtful gestures, appreciation and desire to keep everyone inclusive as a unit and part of the ever-growing RKY Careers Family.

Conclusively, ‘Limitless Without Borders 2.0’ by RKY Careers was a phenomenal success. It is a day that will live long in the memories of everyone at RKY Careers, as “Limitless Without Borders”, the second edition of RKY Careers tech and networking event was an absolute blast! The level of enthusiasm and interactivity was remarkable, and it was an empowering sight to see individuals from diverse backgrounds connecting, sharing experiences, and forging new pathways in the tech industry.
