59 students bag first class as Uniosun holds 14th convocation

Fifty-nine graduating students of Osun State University bagged first-class degrees as the school is set to convocate 2409 for various degrees.

Speaking with newsmen at the school’s multi-purpose hall in Osogbo on Friday, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Clement Adebooye said out of the 2409 graduates, 2,145 would bag their first degrees.

He added that 214 students would bag their master’s degrees, 40 students would bag Doctorate degrees and 10 would awarded postgraduate diplomas.

“I am therefore glad and proud to announce to you that from 13th September to 21st September 2024, we shall be holding a series of activities to mark our 14th Convocation ceremonies.

“The breakdown of the various degrees and diplomas in terms of class of degrees is as follows: First-Class:59 (2.75%), Second Class (Upper Division): 673 (31.38%), Second Class (Lower Division): 1,109 (51.56%), and Third Class: 304 (14.17%).”

He also revealed that the school would not be conferring any honourary degree on any individual, as the school do not just dish out such honour without merit.
