Ar-Riddoh empowers 250 Muslim youths with ICT, leadership skills Ar-Riddoh International Islamic Foundation has successfully concluded its second annual training program, equipping over 250 Muslim youths with vital skills in digital literacy, leadership, and Qur’an proficiency. This free training is part of the foundation’s Vision 2030, aiming to empower 10,000 Nigerian youths with vocational skills, digital literacy, leadership acumen, and Qur’an competence.

The Advance Vacation Course offered intensive training in various areas, including desktop publishing, web designing, classes of maturity, challenging world, steps towards success, skills acquisition in handset repair, catering, and baking.

At the graduation ceremony, Founder Sheikh Muhammadu-Jamiu Abdulgafar emphasized the importance of youth empowerment in preventing crimes and promoting self-employment and economic independence. “This training is to equip our youths between 15-25 years with up-to-date skills for them to be at par with their contemporaries across the world,” he declared.

Sheikh Abdulgafar also announced ongoing training for 300 ladies in Kaduna and plans for another seminar in Anambra, and appealed for collaboration from government, corporate organizations, and well-meaning individuals to expand the program nationwide.

Alhaji Kazeem O. Ige, Chairman of the occasion and CEO of Harmony Breakthrough Finance Company, advised graduands, “Use the skills acquired from this training to become self-employed; you must not allow distractions, set goals to become successful and be prayerful.”

Dr. Daud Amoo-Alaga, Chief Missioner of the Muslim Community of Oyo State (MUSCOY), encouraged the younger generation to incorporate ICT skills into their academic pursuits. “Learning to do old things in new ways would make them suitable for the 21st-century knowledge trend,” he said.

The Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Alhaji Ibrahim Akintayo, represented by Hon. Abdulmajeed Igbalajobi, commended the organizers, saying, “The training would have multiplier effects with good results. The event featured Qur’an recitation, certificate presentation, cash gifts, and consolation prizes for outstanding performers. Graduands pledged to utilize their newfound skills for optimal results.
