As Muslims worldwide celebrate Eid el Maulud, marking the birthday of Prophet Muhammad, Nigerian leaders have urged the faithful to embrace the prophet’s virtues of harmony, love, and service to humanity.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio, in a message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh, extended warm felicitations to Muslims in Nigeria and the Diaspora. He prayed for peace, joy, and blessings for the nation and world.

Akpabio encouraged Muslims to imbibe the prophet’s teachings and live in harmony, love, and service to humanity.

Former Senate President Ahmad Lawan, in a personally signed statement, urged Muslims to reflect on the prophet’s message of love, mercy, and forgiveness. He encouraged kindness, helping those in need, and working towards a more just and equitable society.

Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, in a message signed by his Special Adviser Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, described the prophet as a role model and urged Muslims to reflect on his virtues and teachings.

The Federal Government has declared Monday, September 16, a public holiday to commemorate the prophet’s birthday.

The leaders reiterated the National Assembly’s commitment to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in tackling the country’s challenges and urged unity in overcoming these challenges.”
