In a continued effort to empower Nigeria’s youth and foster digital innovation, Access and NerdzFactory Foundation have successfully executed the fifth edition of the DigiGap Program, a transformative initiative aimed at bridging the digital skills gap among young Nigerians. Sponsored by Access and implemented by NerdzFactory Foundation, the DigiGap Programme 5.0 has equipped 500 young individuals in Lagos with essential digital skills, positioning them to excel in the rapidly growing global digital economy.

As Nigeria solidifies its role as a key player in the global digital landscape, initiatives like the DigiGap Program are vital in preparing the workforce of the future. The program’s focus aligns with both national and international objectives of building a digitally skilled workforce capable of meeting the demands of the 21st century.

The DigiGap Program is meticulously designed to create learning and economic opportunities by providing participants with the critical technology skills necessary for starting and growing a career in tech. Over four intensive weeks, participants were trained in Product Design and Digital Marketing through a hybrid learning system, combining online and in-person sessions.

This approach ensured that participants not only acquired technical knowledge but also gained practical experience, setting them on a path toward successful careers in the tech industry.

In addition to technical skills, the program emphasized the development of crucial soft skills, including problem-solving, teamwork, and communication. Testimonials from participants underscore the program’s success in boosting their confidence and enhancing their career prospects.

“The DigiGap Programme is more than just a training initiative; it’s a catalyst for transformation,” said Ade’ Olowojoba, Director of NerdzFactory Foundation. “We are immensely proud of the impact this program has had on the lives of these young people. By providing them with the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to thrive in the digital economy, we are not only shaping their futures but also contributing to the broader development of Nigeria’s tech ecosystem. This success is a testament to the power of strategic partnerships and our shared vision with Access to drive social innovation and human capital development.”

As DigiGap Programme 5.0 concludes, NerdzFactory Foundation reaffirms its commitment to empowering the next generation with the skills and opportunities necessary for success. The Foundation looks forward to continuing its collaboration with Access and other partners to expand the reach and impact of future editions of the DigiGap Programme.
