From Dream to Dish: My inspiring journey with TurkeyPasta – David-West Oserere

In the heart of Nigeria, a culinary revolution began with a simple yet powerful idea conceived by a college student, David-West Oserere David.

He took time out to narrate his hourney with his dream.

“As I neared the end of my pre-final semester at Madonna University, the desire to carve my own path became increasingly clear. My internship experiences had exposed me to the structured confines of the corporate world, where the routine of the 9-to-5 lifestyle felt stifling. The prospect of waking up every day to work for someone else, adhering to formal dress codes and organizational rules, simply didn’t resonate with my aspirations.

“I am a firm believer in respecting the rules of my environment, but I also recognized that I craved a different kind of fulfillment. It was during this time of introspection that the idea of TurkeyPasta began to take shape. My passion for cooking had always been a source of joy and creativity, and it dawned on me that I could transform this passion into a business that celebrated culinary innovation. I wanted to do something different something that stood out in a crowded market.

“At the time, my only sources of income were my father’s support and a small online business, Copwithturkey, where I sold retail shoes, clothes, and accessories. This limited financial foundation only fueled my determination to succeed. I started asking myself, “What can I bring to the food industry that others haven’t?”

“As I looked around, I noticed a glaring gap: very few vendors were focused on pasta. Inspired, I envisioned a brand that would solely dedicate itself to creating diverse pasta dishes, elevating this beloved staple to new heights.

“TurkeyPasta officially launched, and what started as a modest endeavor quickly gained traction. Our mission was clear: to serve unique pasta dishes that customers couldn’t find anywhere else. I wanted TurkeyPasta to be synonymous with quality and creativity, where every dish would tell a story of flavor, culture, and innovation.

“Over the past three years, TurkeyPasta has transformed into more than just a restaurant; it’s become a community hub for pasta lovers. We’ve worked hard to cultivate an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome, and our customers are at the heart of everything we do. Each dish we serve is a reflection of our commitment to quality and a celebration of the culinary arts.

“This year was particularly monumental for us as we hosted our first outdoor anniversary celebration, which saw an overwhelming turnout. The energy of the event was electrifying, and it reaffirmed my belief in the brand and the community we’ve built. I am deeply grateful for our loyal customers, whose unwavering support has been instrumental in our journey. As a young CEO, I prioritize connecting with every individual who walks through our doors. I strive to ensure that no one feels too big or too small to be part of our TurkeyPasta family.

“Looking ahead, I have ambitious plans for the future of TurkeyPasta. I envision hosting a pasta-themed carnival, where other vendors can showcase their culinary talents and unique pasta dishes. This event would not only celebrate pasta but also foster collaboration within the food community. My goal is to create a platform where creativity flourishes, and we can all learn from one another.

“Moreover, we are continuously looking to expand our menu, exploring new flavors and dishes that reflect our commitment to innovation. We want TurkeyPasta to be accessible to everyone, regardless of age, background, or dietary preference. As we grow, my hope is to reach every corner of Nigeria, bringing the joy of pasta to as many people as possible.

“The journey of TurkeyPasta is far from over. I remain deeply thankful for everyone who has been part of this adventure—our dedicated team, our supportive customers, and the broader community that has embraced our vision. Together, we are not just building a brand; we are creating a movement centered around the love of pasta, community, and creativity.

As I reflect on this journey, I am reminded that the heart of TurkeyPasta is not just about serving food but about creating connections, sharing experiences, and fostering a sense of belonging.
