Kwara to host 2024 BON Awards

Kwara State has secured the hosting rights for this year’s Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards, making it a prime destination for filmmakers from across Nigeria and beyond.

The event will be held at the state-of-the-art Sugar Factory Film Studios, a recent addition to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s creative industry infrastructure.

The BON Awards, Nigeria’s longest-running and traveling film industry award, has been held in various states across the country over the past 16 years. This year’s event in Ilorin is scheduled for Sunday, November 24th.

Seun Oloketuyi, founder of BON Awards, expressed excitement about Kwara hosting the event. He highlighted the opportunity for the state to showcase its welcoming atmosphere and enabling infrastructure to over 500 Nollywood stars who will be attending the event.

Governor AbdulRazaq welcomed the decision to host the event at the Sugar Factory Film Studio, which is designed to elevate the Nigerian creative industry through its cutting-edge post-production capabilities. The Governor also emphasized the state’s commitment to building a strong service and hospitality economy to attract quality human traffic.

The brief ceremony was attended by top government officials, including the Managing Director and General Manager of the Sugar Factory Film Studio, as well as film stars and government officials.
