Another claimant to the tool for 300 level if National Chairmanship of the Labour Party (LP), Callistus Uju Okafor, has dismissed the party’s stakeholders meeting convened by the Abia State Governor, as illegal, unconstitutional and a mere jamboree.

Okafor explained that Nigerians by now ought to know that the meeting that produced Sen. Nenadi Usman as the interim LP national chairman is unconstitutional and does not serve any purpose. 

The factional LP chairman accused a nameless person off group of persons hell bent on destroying the party and the nation of ochestrating the misinformation leleved him.

Okafor said., “We want to bring to the notice of the general public that the jamboree gathering tagged, Labour Party Stakeholders meeting held in Umuahia, Abia State is unconstitutional and not known to any organisation of the party.

“Article 11 of the 2009 constitution which is the only constitution known to the party according to the consent judgement delivered by Hon GO Kolawole on the 20th March, 2018 categorically states the four organisations of the party: Ward, Local Government Area, State and National,” Okafor said.

He further stated that, “Both Dr Alex Otto and Mr Peter Obi, do not have the constitutional authority to convene  any meeting of the party.

He said, “We challenge Otti, to produce the official letter addressed to him from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the subject …,’

Reading for the letter,Okafor explained further, that, “We are committed to reconciling all members and groups, mobilise and conduct all inclusive and expansive congresses in Wards, Local Government Areas, States and the National convention that will achieve a unified, focused Labour Party that will redefine political leadership in Nigeria,”.
