…Express confidence in the Tinubu’s  administration

Niger Delta ex-agitators under the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, has again, distanced themselves from the proposed nationwide Hunger and Hardship Protest organized by aggrieved Nigerians over the current state of the nation, which is scheduled to hold on October 1.

This position was made known in Warri, Delta State, by ex-agitators under Third Phase of the PAP after a seminar organized by leaders of ex-agitators in the Niger Delta on the need to shun the proposed protest and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to fix the nation’s economy.

In a statement issued, yesterday in Warri, Delta State, which was signed by the duo of General Andrew Joel Azazi and General Emma Satu, who are under the Third Phase and made available to newsmen, the group expressed the optimism that the government of President Tinubu would do well and there was the need to give it the needed support and time to fix the economy.

The statement reads in part: “We are beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP. We are here to state categorically that, we will not be part of the nationwide protest scheduled to hold on October 1.

“Our reasons are clear; we believe President Bola Armed Tinubu means well for Nigeria and Nigerians despite the current economic situation we are faced with, and that he is working tirelessly to fix the economy.

“It is our belief that, the government of President Tinubu will do well for the nation and there is the need to give it time to put things right.

“We are here to state that, over five thousand ex-agitators in the Niger Delta region have dissociated themselves from the planned protest for the reasons given above.

“We want to use this medium to, once again, thank Mr President for appointing Dr Dennis Otuaro as Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) and Chief Samuel Ogbuku as Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC”.

In the same vein, former chairman of the Delta State Pilgrimages Welfare Board and Obaseki of Akugbene-Mein Kingdom, High Chief Yusuf Eregbene, who showed solidarity with the position of the ex-agitators, noted that the leadership of President Tinubu had been trying all it could to position the country’s bastardized economy.

“The President Bola Tinubu’s administration is working hard to surmount the current economic challenges, which has also enabled over ten thousand Niger Delta youths to be gainfully employed through the Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd and others”.
