The number of internet users worldwide has steadily increased in recent years.

While countries with larger populations often have more internet users, there are notable exceptions.

According to Exploding Topics, here are the ten countries with the highest number of internet users:

1. China – 1.05 billion users

China, with its vast population, ranks as the country with the highest number of internet users, boasting an estimated 1.05 billion users. Approximately 74.36% of the population in China are active internet users.

2. India – 692 million

India ranks second globally, with 692 million people online. This represents 49.15% of the country’s total population.

3. US – 311.3 million

The United States ranks third in global internet usage, with 311.3 million of its 331.9 million population online, representing a high internet penetration rate of 93.79%.

4. Indonesia – 212.9 million

Indonesia ranks fourth globally, with 212.9 million people online. This represents 77.76% of its 273.8 million population.

5. Brazil – 181.8 million

This South American country stands at the fifth position in this list. Brazil has a population of 214.3 million and nearly 85% of them access the internet.

6. Russia – 127.6 million

Russia ranks sixth among countries with the highest number of internet users, with 127.6 million people online. Nearly 90% of its 143.4 million population uses the internet.

7. Nigeria – 122.5 million

Nigeria ranks seventh on the list of countries with the highest number of internet users, with 122.5 million people online. More than half of its population is connected to the internet.

8. Japan – 102.5 million

Japan ranks eighth among countries with the highest number of internet users, with 102.5 million people online. This accounts for over 80% of its population of 125.7 million.

9. Mexico – 100.6 million

Mexico ranks ninth, with 100.6 million people online. Nearly 80% of its 126.7 million population has internet access.

10. Pakistan – 87.35 million

Pakistan, ranks tenth with a population of 231.4 million, has 87.35 million internet users. Despite fewer than 40% of its population being online, it ranks tenth globally in terms of internet user base.
