• As dignitaries storm Osogbo for his 70th birthday

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola has stressed the need for members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State to remain united for the party’s success in future elections.

This is as Director-General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Dr Dayo Mobereola, led several dignitaries to Osogbo for the grand finale of the Minister’s 70th birthday celebration.

Oyetola, who called in from Saudi Arabia, where he was observing the lesser hajj, disclosed that the decision to celebrate him even in his absence showed the unity of purpose within the APC family in the State.

“I am highly honoured with the one week activities put together for me as I joined the Septuagenarian club. I, however, appeal to you all to continue to work together for the sake of our party. I love the unity of purpose within the family. Please let us sustain the tempo for the sake of our State too”, he said.

Meanwhile, an Islami cleric, the Chief Imam of Offa, Sheikh Muyideen Salman, in his sermon lauded Oyetola noting that he has enjoyed uncommon grace from God and had used his life to build people who in return celebrated his 70th birthday in grand style.

He also charged the political class to always strive to reproduce themselves in a better way through human capacity development as future investment.

Other dignitaries at the event include the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdul-Rasheed Olabomi, Alaagba of Aagba, Oba Rufus Ogunwole.

Also, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Shippers Council, NSC, Pius Akutah, Managing Director of NIWA, Bola Oyebamiji, Executive Director, Project Implementation of the Federal Housing Authority, Remi Omowaiye, Chairman of Governing Board, Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Professor Siyan Oyeweso amongst others.
