By DEBORAH OKORO

Renowned actress and Girl Child Advocate, Amb. Steph-Nora Okere, is taking up the challenges of grooming the next generation of female filmmakers from her home state, Imo.

To this end, the actress is organizing what she calls, “The #ImoGirlsFilmmakingSummit”, which is billed to hold from December 1, to 7, in Owerri, the Imo state capital. The summit is being organized by her NGO, Bigsister Care Foundation.

The light-complexioned actress said the initiative was to inspire and empower participants through film, offering workshops and conversations with the industry leaders and change makers.

Steph said the summit will afford young Imo women between the ages of 16 and 25, who want to become filmmakers the rare opportunity to achieve their dreams.
