The Queen Adenike Tejuosho (QAT) Foundation, founded by Halimat Tejuosho, has awarded scholarships as well as learning materials to People Living With Disabilities (PLWDs) and out-of-school children, in a bid to promote inclusive education and empowerment in the Country.

The QAT Foundation’s scholarship initiative is a laudable effort of the Philanthropist, to address the educational needs of marginalized groups and promote inclusivity in Nigeria’s education sector

The scholarships, forty, out-of-school children in primary and secondary school totalling 80 as well as twenty undergraduate students, totalling 100 aimed to enable them to continue with their education and build a brighter future for themselves and their respective families.

In a statement issued to newsmen in Kaduna on Wednesday, Tejuosho expressed her commitment to empowering vulnerable groups through education, stressing that education is a fundamental right, and as such people must believe that everyone deserves access to it, regardless of their background or abilities.

She added that this phase of the scholarship only targeted a hundred people, meanwhile, she disclosed that the foundation is rolling out other packages that would be of great benefit to the larger society.

“The initiative, carried out by the QAT Foundation today, aims to provide access to education for marginalized groups and promote inclusivity in the education sector as a panacea for relative peace and development.

“It is an annual program that prioritizes the welfare of vulnerable Nigerians across the 36 states of the federation and the FCT. We were in Lagos last year where over 200 persons benefited from the scholarship.

“We have other lines of opportunities coming up very soon for the larger society like we always do. The gesture is to assist humanity in our little efforts even as development is a collective effort.

“I want to appeal to Nigerians to give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s led government more time. The truth is that Tinubu’s government inherited huge liabilities from the past administration and this has made things very difficult for all of us. Meanwhile, I can assure you that with time, everything will be properly addressed.” she said.

In his remarks, one of the Head Teachers in Karonmajige settlement, Mr. Shuaibu Ahmed Gudu said, “Here are children that already finished their primary school for a very long time but the fund for continuity is not there for them to go higher. You can see that she has put a smile on their faces now and we are all very happy.

We are also soliciting that she would bring some of her colleagues to come and assist us because there are other children that needed to go back to school but they do not have the means. Our prayers is that God will continue to bless her even as she decided to carry the need of vulnerable people as her priority.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Miss Aisha Mohammed, a secondary school student, expressed her gratitude to the QAT Foundation, saying that the scholarship has given her hope and chance to continue with her education.

The scholarship recipients praised Tejusho’s exceptional philanthropist in using her hard earned money to meet the need of the less privilege across the country and as such urged that the government of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu incorporate her into his administration to enable her touch more lives.

Aisha said, ”I am so grateful for this scholarship. It has given me hope and a chance to continue my education. I promise to work hard and make the most of this opportunity. Thank you, Halimat Tejuosho Foundation, for believing in me.

”These are the kind of persons that government should identify and give them responsibility to head pro-people agencies and parastatals. Her Humanitarian gesture is highly commendable and we pray that God will take her to that position that she can be able to assist more people especially the less privilege.” Aisha added
