All 23 Super Eagles players invited for Nigeria’s crucial Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Libya have reported to camp.

The final arrivals, Sevilla duo Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke, reached the Super Eagles base in Uyo on Wednesday morning, providing a timely boost for caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen ahead of Friday’s match.

Iheanacho and Ejuke were part of Sevilla’s squad in their recent 1-0 La Liga victory over Real Betis, although Iheanacho was an unused substitute while Ejuke played the entire match.

The pair missed the Super Eagles’ first training session on Tuesday but are expected to join the team on Wednesday after recovering from their journey.

Fenerbahce’s Bright Osayi-Samuel, who also missed Tuesday’s training session, is expected to take part in the team’s preparations as Nigeria eyes victory over Libya.

Meanwhile, the Libyan national team, known as the Mediterranean Knights, arrived in Uyo earlier on Wednesday after a lengthy journey from Tripoli via Abuja.

Under the guidance of newly appointed head coach Nasser Al-Hadhiri, the Libyan squad is determined to turn around their poor start in the qualifiers.

They are set to train in Uyo ahead of Friday’s important clash.

Nigeria, currently with four points from their opening two matches, aim to strengthen their position in the qualifiers.

The reverse fixture is scheduled just four days later in Benina Libya.

Both teams are battling for a spot in the 2025 AFCON tournament set to be held in Morocco.
