As Nigeria celebrates its 64th Independence Day, the Northern Elders Political Development Group has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to overlook rumors surrounding a cabinet reshuffle and focus on his ministers’ notable achievements.

The group’s secretary, Dr. Adamu Lawal Giwa, praised key ministers, including:

Umar Farouk Dangiwa (Housing): Significant policy developments in the housing sector.

Abubakar Atiku (Budget): Commitment to fiscal responsibility and discipline in budgetary control.

Mohammed Bello Matawalle (Defense): Effective fight against insecurity, yielding positive results.

The elders commended President Tinubu, Matawalle, and General Christopher Musa (Chief of Defence Staff) for their success in combating insecurity in the North-West region, particularly through Operation Fansar Yamma. They highlighted the elimination of dangerous bandits in Sokoto, Zamfara, and Katsina States.

The group encouraged President Tinubu to continue his war against insecurity, support the military and security agencies, and maintain continuity with those who have contributed to his administration’s successes.

This endorsement comes amidst rumors of an impending cabinet reshuffle, with some groups calling for the injection of action-oriented ministers to drive meaningful change.
