Bandits in Birnin Kebbi, the recently abducted district head of Kanya village, under Denko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Alhaji Isah Daya has been killed by his abductors.

Daya was abducted by armed bandits alongside eight others at his village Kanya, according to vigilante members. The eight other abductees were rescued unhurt by combined security forces but unfortunately, the gunmen killed the district head of Kanya.

A local from Kanya village, who didn’t want to be mentioned confirmed that the monarch was killed by armed bandits and his remains have already been deposited at Kanya hospital.

The state government in a statement by the Press Secretary to the governor, Alhaji Ahmed Idris, also confirmed the rescue of the eight persons abducted alongside the monarch but was silent on whether the district head was among the rescued.

However, the state Police image maker, Nafiu Abubakar didn’t respond to calls placed to his line at press time.
