LASG, Private operators provide 6 truck parks at LFTZ

IN a move to ensure uninterrupted free flow of traffic in and around the Lekki Port corridor, Lagos government in collaboration with some private investors at the Lekki Port axis have provided six truck parks with capacity to host 3,000 trucks.

The was contained in the minutes of a meeting held between stakeholders in the Lekki Port axis and officials of the Lagos Sate Ministry of Transport recently, where the government mandated every stakeholder to key into the Electronic Call-Up Transport Management system.

According to the minutes it was agreed that wet and dry cargoes would be accommodated at different Satellite Parks just as plans to create adequate awareness campaign for tankers, trucks and all the stakeholders have also been concluded.

It was further agreed that safety inspection will be done at various parks before proceeding to the terminals while a ‘Safe to Load’ certificate will also be issued at terminals.
