Marcello leads Dubai based football Academy to open screening in Nigeria

Dubai-based football academy, Yoshi Football Academy will run an Open Screening for Talented Players exercise in Abuja tomorrow, former Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Presidential aspirant and international grassroots football advocate, Anyanwu Marcello has disclosed.


According to Anyanwu who is also the Sporting Director of Yoshi Football Academy, the Chief Executive Officer, CEO of the academy, Ahmad Mustapha Geidam disclosed that the academy has two branches in the United Arab Emirates cities of Dubai and Sharjah with over 250 kids from 17 different nationalities.
Speaking ahead of the program, Ahmad said, “We want to bring an international standard approach to grass-root football development to Nigeria.


“Yoshi Football Academy Dubai offers world class coaching, International camps abroad and pathways for professional football career”, he disclosed, adding, “We will build a formidable team that will compete with the top teams in the world from U15 – U18 categories.”


On the opportunities for players who will be integrated into the academy after the screening, the Yobe-born football manager added that, “Yoshi FA is ambitious with its goals and vision and has carefully planned and strategized to ensure maximum value for its players and clients. We have partners in Canada, Spain and the USA, and our primary objective is to create balance between football and education. We are determined to make an impact in the coming months and years not only in Nigeria but in Africa at large.”


“We will identify, select and develop players and give them the opportunity to get student athlete scholarships in universities in the UK, USA, Spain and Canada. They will study the course of their choice and play for the university teams. We will also provide professional pathways for players to play in the Middle East, Spain and many more countries across the world.”


With former Arsenal soccer school coach, Marcello Anyanwu in charge as the Sporting Director, the exercise is aimed at identifying young talents and giving them the right platform to excel both locally and internationally.
