Ondo guber: Aiyedatiwa, Ajayi call for peaceful poll

GOVERNOR Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State and the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Agboola Ajayi, yesterday, tasked politicians and political parties in the state to be peaceful in the November 16 governorship election.

Aiyedatiwa, who is the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, said this in his address to mark Nigeria’s 64th anniversary.

He said: “Let me remind us of the need to be alive to our civic responsibility as we prepare for the November 16 Governorship Election in our dear state which is a defining moment in our political history.

“We must all play by the rules and recommit ourselves to a peaceful and credible election.

“For us as a government, we are committed to your socioeconomic well-being, so, there is no looking back. Our hands are firmly and steadily on the plough.

On his part, the governorship candidate of the PDP, Mr Ajayi, urged the people of the state to vote wisely in the November 16 governorship election.

Ajayi, in a statement, tasked the people of the state to vote for a government that would represent their interests.

He said: “To the people of Ondo State, I urge you to exercise your franchise and elect a government that truly represents your interests.

“As we strive for a better tomorrow, I implore you to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and vigilant. Let us collectively raise our flag, embracing our diversity and promoting unity.”
