Temvert Empowerment Foundation awards N500,000 scholarship to two Ogun pupils

Temvert Empowerment Foundation awards N500,000 scholarship to two Ogun pupils

The Temvert Empowerment Foundation has awarded a scholarship worth N500,000 to two Ogun State secondary pupils.

The foundation awarded the scholarship to the pupils on Wednesday in Abeokuta to ensure “they have access to quality education.”

The two students, Adekanbi Oge and Ejay God’s Freedom, received N250,000 each for the scholarship.

Thirteen-year-old Adekanbi Oge is an orphan and could not further her education after finishing primary school. She started learning hairdressing as her mother’s income could not afford her education.

“Oge can now continue her education at the secondary school level through the scholarship,”  the foundation added.

Ejay God’s Freedom is an eleven-year-old boy from Benue State

who has been staying at home and could not go to school because his parent could not afford to enroll him in school. His mother’s income is not enough to take care of him and his siblings.

“This scholarship will bring him back to school and allow him to achieve his ambition of being a pilot,” the foundation added.

According to the foundation, the two beneficiaries of the scholarship have been enrolled at Brace Up the Young School in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The founder of the Temvert Empowerment Foundation, Temitayo Olatunde, said he was excited for the two children.

Olatunde further said that the scholarship is one of their projects called the Emeanua Austin Scholarship Scheme.

“We named the scholarship after Mr Emeanua Austin, premised on his efforts in inspiring young people like us to continue to commit to community development and his support for the foundation both financially and physically. These two children now have the opportunity to go back to school and chase their dreams,” he said.

Olatunde added that they still have more scholarships to award to students at all levels of the Nigerian education system.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the foundation, AbdulRasheed Adepitan Adetunji, said the scholarship is another fulfillment of their organisational planks.

“Our scholarship schemes ensure students do not drop out of school as a result of financial incapacities, and those who have dropped out are brought back to school,” Adetunji said.

He further said that at the Temvert Empowerment Foundation, believe education is the cornerstone of a brighter future, and that the initiative aims to bridge the financial gap and empower deserving students at basic and advanced levels to access quality education.

“By shouldering the burden of school fees, we are unlocking opportunities for these young minds to thrive, grow, and contribute meaningfully to their communities,” he added.

Olusola Ogundijo, who led the foundation’s team to present the scholarship award to the two students, stated that their scholarships to the less privileged aim to give them access to quality education by financially intervening in their difficulties.

Obasanjo Fajemirokun, the founder of Brace Up the Young School, where the two children were enrolled, appreciated the foundation for the gesture, expressing his excitement about the foundation’s selfless initiative.

The parents of the beneficiaries also expressed their gratitude, describing the scholarship as an unexpected goodness that will allow their children to go to school.
