The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Kebbi State, Abubakar Chika Malami, has formally flagged off his campaign for the 2027 election, pledging to run an issue-based campaign and prioritise healthcare and other critical sectors if elected.

The Director-General of the ADC Campaign Council in the state, Alhaji Sani Tadurga, disclosed this on Wednesday at a press conference held at Asbir Hotel, Birnin Kebbi.

Tadurga said the ADC was embarking on what he described as a “rescue mission” aimed at repositioning Kebbi State rather than pursuing political interests for personal gains.

He said Malami was seeking to reposition the state through reforms in education, security and agriculture, while improving the overall welfare of residents.

According to him, the campaign would also focus on revitalising the tourism sector through public-private partnerships, with the aim of creating employment opportunities for young people across the state.

Tadurga said an ADC administration under Malami would also tackle the challenge of out-of-school children and improve the quality of education through what he described as a robust education policy.

He said the policy would support the effective implementation of education-for-all programmes in the state.

He further said the campaign team was prepared to take its message to communities across the state, assuring residents that no community would be neglected during the campaign.

Tadurga urged residents to consider the ADC’s programmes and policies ahead of the 2027 governorship election, saying the party would engage voters across the state on issues affecting their daily lives.
